Cyndi's Back

Cyndi Lauper is back with a new dance cd, Bring Ya to The Brink. It was released today, and in our constant desire to be au current, Bill played it at the office today. There is one song in particular that I think is brilliant, but it is not fit for the family blog. Here is a taste of the cd. And, if you ever get a chance to see her live, do. You won't be disappointed.

Sunday Supper!

A short video from our Sunday Supper with Jill, Tim, Tatum, Colin, Ally, Maggie and some friends from work. Of course, Tatum is the star!

Deflated

We had a great visit with Tatum, Jill and Tim. Tatum is absolutely adorable and a very enjoyable baby to have around. I loved every minute that I got to spend with her.

Of course, she had to have her own pool. It's state now matches my mood now that they are gone. More later once I recover.

Joyce trying to post for first time

Sharon and I had a great and enjoyable time in Canton with Jim and Bill. What a house they have and the yard is really something! I guess Jim is the landscaper and Bill is the cook. We had a scrumpous meal prepared by Bill . Jim took us around to some good restaurants where everyone seems to know and like Jim and Bill (of course). I still laugh about the code word (Sprite) that you used at the Mexican restaurent to get me a Margarita because they had lost their liquor license. Jim took us to see the Grant building where they have their business. They surprised us with a sign on the wall as we walked in to welcom us . Jim drove us to Aiken to see Ted and Elsie where we spent the rest of our time. I was very happy to be able to spend some quality time with my brother, Ted. We went to a fantastic concert in the park and had a picnic lunch there. We had a delicious meal at the Masonic Lodge one night with a Men's choir entertaining us. One highlight of the trip to Aiken was the wedding with all men participating. Guess who was the bride named 'Sugar'? Before our time there ended, Elsie drove us to Savannah where we ate at Paula Deen's restaurant. Sharon always watches her show on TV.

Many thanks again to all for your Southern hospitality. Hope to see you in Lake Havasu (or Bend,Oregon sometime. Keep in touch!!

Hot Dam!

Big excitement here in Canton, Georgia! We treated Ted, Elsie, Jill, Tim and Tatum to the prerequisite tour of Hickory Log Creek Dam. Our other big stop, the drought at Lake Allatoona, is temporarily off the tour route since there is now water in the lake.

Tatum Goes for iPhone!

Tatum can travel now, especially if there is an iPhone to be had! We are going to spray her belly with Pledge and let her clean the floors while she scoots along!

Tatum Sans Car Seat

Tatum and her mom and dad arrived safely in Atlanta on time, 10pm. Mom and Tatum were just fine while dad was trying to find the car seat. After a couple hours we found out that it didn't make the plane. We were given a loaner and made it home about 1am.

Today's agenda includes the Aquarium. Oh, and I am sure I heard her say Jim.

Aunt Update

Today is Joyce and Sharon's last full day in the South. Sharon said they had a good time in Savannah, but the restaurant wasn't exactly what she has imagined. I think that is an accurate assessment. Although, I think the gift shop was hit. I think there is some fancy dinner tonight and then they leave for Seattle tomorrow at 9:35 pm. I will pick them up half way between Atlanta and Aiken.

My car started acting up today. Thank goodness it didn't do it while we were on our way to Aiken. So, I may be picking them up in my Toyota Rav 4 loaner.

Next, it's Jill, Tim and Tatum arriving Thursday. Tatum's first of many trips to the South. Dad and Elsie are arriving Friday and then leaving for Cleveland Sunday. Jimmy, Elsie's grandson, graduates from high school June 1 or something like that. Everyone grows up.

It was great to see Sharon and Joyce.

When is Theone's visit???

You Gotta Have This

Duffy's cd was released last Tuesday - BUY IT! It will only cost you 3 gallons of gas.

Aunt Update

I guess now it's the sister and sister-in-law update. Sharon, Joyce and I ventured to Aiken yesterday. They went to a Masonic fund raiser last night. I'll let them tell you about it. It was something to do with a womanless marriage...

Saturday, Elsie was going somewhere for Eastern Star so dad and the ladies were going to site see. Sunday's schedule includes a trip to Savannah and Paula Deen's restaurant, The Lady and Sons. I am not sure what is on tap for Monday. Tuesday, I meet them half way between Atlanta and Aiken and it's off to the airport for the trip back to Seattle.

Aunt Update

Sharon and Joyce at the Margaret Mitchell Museum.

Sorry I haven't updated, but we have been so so busy. Yesterday we went to Atlanta. We had lunch at Watershed. Then we went to the Margaret Mitchell/Gone With The Wind Museum and then to Lenox square. Joyce almost walked out of the Apple store with a laptop, but at the last minute she choked! We had dinner at Downtown Kitchen last night.

It has rained all day today. Bill left for Las Vegas. We went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and then I went back to work. I think we are going to El Caporal for dinner.

Tomorrow we are heading to Aiken.

The Aunts Arrived

Sharon and Joyce arrived safely in Atlanta. It's cold tonight, but it will be warmer tomorrow.

The Aunts Arrive Tonight

Joyce and Sharon arrive tonight around 8:30. I am excited about their visit. I will update the blog with highlights. We have had strong winds for the last 24 hours or so. The yard is kind of a mess with no time to really touch it up. Oh, well.

Joyce mentioned she might want to go swimming. If she does, it would be the earliest anyone has ventured into the unheated pool.

Bill is planning on cooking tomorrow night.
We'll eat at Downtown Kitchen Wednesday night.
Thursday is up in the air.
Friday we go to Aiken.

Brothers and Sisters

Brothers and Sisters (a great show) ended with this song. It's a Blind Faith song, but a woman sang it on the show tonight. I am not sure it was this woman, but it's still great version. Kind of an appropriate Mother's day song for me...hmmmmm

Jon Stewart

We saw Jon Stewart's stand-up show last night. I have not laughed that hard since I don't know when. He was absolutely phenomenal.

Really, that is him.

GREEN

Wild Life

Last Sunday I was working outside and I looked down into the woods and saw a snake. It was at least 5 feet long. It's the dark line in the middle of the picture. It eventually slithered away into the ivy. As you can tell not a lot to post this week.

You've Come Along Way Baby

Southern Crazy on Parade!

So Jim and I went to the Derby Days party and fundraiser for the Cherokee Historical Society in Canton. We were a little cautious in our willingness to attend, but it was actually fun and kind of hilarious! There was a silent auction, which Jim outbid his arch nemesis, Patty Baker, and free flowing mint juleps and wine. That made the crowd a lot more entertaining! There was also a lot of politics going on in the crowd, and I just love that. The highlight of the evening was the "Parade of Hats!" Here's a photo of the ladies all lined up in their bonnets. The lady that won first place had a "Cosmopolitan" theme, as in the martini. A true theme the crowd could rally around...
