New Music Discovery
I saw Melody Gardot on CBS Sunday Morning today. I had not heard of her before, and she is amazing! Apparently, she was in a very serious car accident a few years ago and had spinal and brain damage. She was not expected to even be able to communicate, but a doctor suggested she start writing and singing as therapy. She still wears dark glasses because she is so sensitive to light. She is very original. What do you think?

Happy Birthday Effie
Happy Birthday Effie. When I saw you last fall you looked fabulous.
Post your favorite picture of Effie. I am at work right now and don't have any on my machine.
Enjoy your day. (I usually try to stretch the celebration out a week or so. I'm just sayin...)
Well, I couldn't find a photo of Effie, but I found a picture of a great gift she gave me once.

Happy New Year - Day 3
We had a good day yesterday with Tonya and Bob. We saw two movies, A Single Man and Up in the Air. Both movies are definitely worth seeing.
A Single Man is a beautifully filmed and the acting is impeccable. However, it is not light entertainment.
Up in the Air, from the director of Juno is funny and disturbing. George Clooney is great.
We ended the day with Thai food and Annie's Thai Castle.
