Leo

I have been quiet this week. A lot of things going on. The vet discovered that Leo had elevated liver and kidney numbers. I learned that Friday. I took him to the vet Saturday for more tests. Those tests were not positive either. So, today he had an ultra sound on his liver. The good news is that there are no tumors or other masses on his liver or abdomen area. He probably has the beginning of thyroid problems that can be treated. I am so relieved.

Here is the cutest kitty alive.

Sisters!

This picture was taken before all the crazyness today. Daylight savings is playing havic on our house, no afternoon naps for either of the girls...hopefully it's early to bed tonight.

Today's Quote

"There seems to be but three ways for a nation to acquire wealth. The first is by war, as the Romans did in plundering their conquered neighbors. This is robbery. The second is by commerce, which is generally cheating. The third is by agriculture, the only honest way; wherein man receives a real increase of the seed thrown into the ground in a kind of continual miracle."

More Shameless Promotion

We are designing a line of outdoor furniture for Caluco, a California company. Our line is not on their website yet, but will be soon. The furniture is due to be launched in Los Angeles May 13 and 14th. Once we have photos, I will post them.

Currently, Aaron (Caluco's Owner) has a lot of teak furniture that he is trying to move. If you see something you are interested in, please give me a call. I know I can get you a good deal.

Happy Rainy Thursday from Georgia.

Joe-Lean

Joe 1998 (or so) - March 6, 2010

I am in Seattle this weekend for a quick visit. I have some sad news to report. Joe-lean, our office cat, died of renal failure yesterday, March 6th. He showed up at our house about 10 years ago and was our outside cat for awhile. We thought he was a female. Bill named him Jolene after the Dolly Parton song. Later, changed to Joe-Lean (he was a tad over weight). He disappeared for a couple of weeks. Then, on Valentines Day (probably 2000) he appeared from the woods, injured. I took him to the vet where they told me he was a neutered male and he had a broken hip. The vet operated on him and I brought him back to the office to recover. We had two cats at home. He has been at the office ever since.

Over the last few years he developed diabetes and we had to give him insulin shots twice a day. It was a group effort. We had a calendar in the kitchen where the person who gave Joe the shot, recorded the time. He also developed kidney problems and he had to have a kidney pill every morning. He always came and visited me first thing in the morning to get his greenie pill pocket. I also gave him other greenies at the same time. (pet owners will understand greenies)

He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him. He was a member of our team.

To those of you who met him in person or just on the blog, please say farewell to him in you own way.
