So, I was sitting on the front porch waiting for Bill to pick me up to go to dinner (Our favorite Mexican restaurant), when I heard something rustling. Much to my surprise, this is what I saw. The snake is not that easy to see, but it's the black streak with the rings. I think it was a
king snake.

The horizontal black stripe is a soaker hose, the vertical black strip is the snake.

We don't see many snakes anymore. Seemed to always be one slinking around our place in Kent. I have not seen one "garter" snake here.
I have had 2 dead birds (half eaten) in front of our pond. Very disturbing. Racoon, opposum, cat??? Nature.
I have seen three in the last month where I run. Of course, I think it is some kind of sign. Half eaten bird sounds like a cat.
