Coincidental Friday

Early last week I posted a picture of mistletoe growing in a tree. On Friday, after I parked my car, I stepped over to the sidewalk and right in front of me was a piece of mistletoe. I have never seen it on the ground before. Maybe my iphone can foretell the future? Anyway, it's here at home now in a vase, that I think belonged to mom.

Tantrum

This is my third day without a diet coke or any diet beverage. I think I feel like Tatum right now. I heard somewhere that diet drinks are linked to diabetes or something like that. They probably are just bad. So, I decided to stop. Water or tonic water with a splash of bitters for me.

Terrible Two's

Congratulations Ric & Lara...this is what you have to look forward to. :-)

I'm not sure what all the crying was about. She wouldn't take a nap and this was the fallout in the evening.

Kiss Me

Here are a couple shots of Mistletoe It grows in the trees around here. It's actually a parasite. I had never seen it growing until I moved to Georgia. It's evergreen so you can really see it during Winter in the deciduous trees. I don't think we have any on our property. The plant world is fascinating. And very soon, we will get to see in all it's glory as Springtime is right around the corner. Boy, do I need it.

Lara and Ric's exciting news

Remember that picture of "the four of us" that we all told them they can't count. Well, there were 4. Lara is 12 weeks pregnant. That is very exciting. I bet Grandma Effie and Grandpa Jim are thrilled. Nothing like a little one to spoil.

Congratulations. Can't wait to meet "the baby"

okay, I do have a post.

It's a crisp and clear Winter night in Georgia. I am pretty sure it's warmer in Seattle than in Georgia. We need to start calling the phenomena Climate Change, not the other. But, I digress. The crisp clear sky has allowed an amazing view of the moon. You know when it's a crescent moon, but it's so bright you can see all of the moon. It's transfixing. When I look at the moon, I realize that all of you out there can see it to. And, just maybe we see it at the same time and are connected.

You just can't get a good picture of the moon with an iphone.

Also, Orion's belt has been right over our house for the past couple of weeks. I always wonder what those sights are supposed to suggest to me. Perhaps, it's a link to all of mankind throughout the ages. Perhaps, it's just nature in all it's glory. Perhaps, I should quit trying to wax poetically.

Consumed by the Olympics

I am working on my Facebook Olympic Observations. I am still here, just focused on Olympics.

Valentine's Snow!

Jim's photos of our Southern snow were nice, especially his new specs, but they were from the day after when things began to melt. Here are a few from Friday afternoon. Pool anyone? We're under another Winter Storm Warning for tonight and tomorrow with 2-4 more inches expected. Happy Snowy Valentine's Day to everyone from One Britt Street!

Signs of Spring / Hope from Portland

As the East Coast digs out, the South tries to warm up, and the world turns its collective attention to Vancouver for curling, hockey, skating and skiing - I thought I would share some signs of spring from Portland. The Cherry trees are starting to bloom.

The posts have been fewer and further between lately. I assume folks are just busy - but you’re all in my thought. Happy spring.
