The piping is being installed to bring water from the Etowah River (currently under a flood warning) to The Hickory Log Creek Dam. Here is a picture of the pipes.

Reminds me of the first time my family went to see Donald and Barbara in Alaska (and were joined by Ted and Ramona) in 1976 or 1977 I'm not sure. We saw all the pipes for the Alaska pipeline and I actually have a photo of myself standing inside one.
I was thinking last night that I should have taken a picture with some perspective. The pipes are very large. They are going to pump a lot of water through them.
I bet that was Mom and Dad's first trip to Alaska. My first an only was Christmas 1974. A long time ago.
