Calvin
Calvin was 14 years old last August. Last May he weighed 16 lbs. Lately, he has been losing weight and is constantly hungry. I took him to the vet on Thursday. His heart rate was increased and he had lost 5 lbs. The vet thought that he probably had a hyperactive thyroid and that that would be the best possible explanation as it is treatable. The results did indeed show a hyperactive thyroid that can be treated with medication. He started the medication today. It will take two to three weeks to see results.
Pill Pockets
If any of you have ever tried to give a pill to a cat, take heart. The pill pocket product is a dream come true. Joe-lean (our office cat) has to take a kidney pill once a day. He loves taking the pill when I use a pill pocket. This morning, Calvin couldn't get the pill pocket down fast enough.

The makers of "Greenies" are amazing. Every one of their products I've ever tried is nearly addicting to animals.
I know. It must be like crack. Although, Leo won't eat them. I guess he prefers the real kitty crack, catnip.
