Rainy Lake Memories

In honor of a day of 90 degrees and 70 percent humidity in ND (when we'd all like to take a swim in the lake) a picture of the site where the Bernard Cabin once stood. Lots of great memories. Look for additional pictures to come.

Doesn't take long to wipe out all human existence. Many fond memories of family times at the cabin. Is it my recollection or were those days less hectic and simpler? Effie, we could have used a cell phone when the boat wouldn't start and we left Grandpa at cabin and canoed back to dock. But then we wouldn't have the memory or great story to tell. A daunting fete for sure.

Wow! I don't quite know what to say. My best times growing up were at the cabin. Countless memories. Kind of leaves me feeling empty. However, Rainy Lake is still beautiful.

You know, seeing it again really wasn't bad, and since there really was nothing there (if you didn't know we'd been there at one time you'd almost not know anything had been). The daisies that covered the former front yard were beautiful...and they are my mom's favorite. I have a great video that i will try to post if I can get it to load....Wish we could all go water skiing and have a sauna.

Thanks for posting the slide show Bob. I put a link in the upper right hand side. I must say, the slide show is powerful. Misty eyed morning.

Here is another video. Hopefully it is available to all, it's a new service that I haven't used before.

The video is great. I tried to post to the blog, but the embed wouldn't copy. I'll look at it later and see if I can get it to post.

Beautiful pictures...loved the video. It seems strange not to see the hylex jug!

I haven't thought about the hilex jug in a long time.

Visiting the cabin site was a beautiful day. I'd forgotten how cold Rainy Lake can be.
